Visiting Iowa City

Arrival/Departure

Many of our programs and events are located at the Blank Honors Center (BHC) on the University of Iowa's campus in Iowa City, Iowa. The BHC is located near the intersection of Clinton Street and Market Street.

The Eastern Iowa Airport (CID) is just 20 minutes north of downtown Iowa City and is served by most major airlines. For more information about the airport and ground transportation, please visit their website.

Traffic Alert: Particularly during the summer months, there are often road construction projects that can cause traffic delays for travelers coming into Iowa City. For more information on road closures please visit the City of Iowa City's website.

Parking

For campus parking information, visit the University of Iowa Transportation website. The closest campus parking options to the Blank Honors Center include the North Campus Parking Ramp and the Iowa Memorial Union (IMU) Parking Ramp.

For parking managed by the City of Iowa City, an overview of downtown parking is available at Downtown Iowa City. City ramps closest to the Blank Honors Center include the Iowa City Tower Place Ramp and the Iowa City Capitol Street Ramp. Both ramps and meters allow for payment via cash or credit cards.

Free street parking in downtown neighborhoods is limited and requires careful attention to the posted signs in order to avoid parking tickets due to the Odd/Even parking system.

Lodging options in downtown Iowa City include the Iowa House Hotel, Hilton Garden Inn, Hyatt Place, Graduate, and Hotel Vetro.
